More Accurate Uptime Monitoring with Browser-Based Checks
We’ve recently improved our uptime monitoring system to make it more reliable than ever. While our current uptime checks already test websites every 5 minutes, there are rare cases where a site might appear down even when it’s accessible to regular users. These are called false positives — and they can be caused by things like firewall rules, brief server hiccups, or stricter security settings.
To help reduce these false alerts, we’ve now added browser-based checks. This means that if your site doesn’t respond as expected, we’ll try again — this time using a real browser engine behind the scenes. This more closely matches what your visitors experience, and helps avoid unnecessary downtime notifications when your site is actually up and running.
Why this matters
This new feature makes our website uptime monitoring smarter and more accurate. For site owners, it means more peace of mind and fewer false alarms. For visitors to your website, it means fewer chances of downtime going unnoticed.
At WPMissionControl, our goal is to provide clear, reliable website status monitoring so you can stay focused on what matters most — running your business.
No action needed
This improvement has already been rolled out and is active on all plans. You don’t need to change any settings or upgrade anything. If your site ever goes down, we’ll now double-check it in a smarter way — using both server-level and browser-level monitoring.
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out. And as always, thanks for trusting WPMissionControl to watch over your WordPress websites.
